Firework by Spain!
I met dear at Suntec after his work at around 7 for dinner and for the firework by Spain! In order not to miss the firework, we decided to buy takeaway food. Initially, dear dear wanted to bring me to an expressway near Suntec, Marine Square, Esplanade. But unfortunately, there was a "police block". I guess it's because of safety, no one is allowed to watch the firework along the expressway. On the way, we met some photographers, chatted a bit and we followed them to the Marine Promenade. Unfortunately again, there was some construction going on, thus the view wasn't good. So I persuaded dear to move on to Esplanade where we hope to get a better view. We took a while to walk there as there was a crowd of people walking, in the opposite direction as we do. In front of the Esplanade, there were a big crowd of people sitting on the flight of steps waiting patiently for the firework to start. Fyi, it was only 8.25pm. There were also a group of photographers who brought along their tripods. All well prepared for wonderful photos to be taken. At 8.45, we had a "surprise" from Edwin (dear's friend, also my friend)!!! He has a room on the 18th floor of The Oriental Hotel!!! Upon hearing that, dear gave him a call to ask if we can join. Yupz we can! Seeing that firework will be starting in about 15mins time, we ran all the way to the hotel. Though we were just opposite The Oriental Hotel, we had to make a long trip to there! Why? Because we can't jaywalk! Haha! Actually, it was quite funny when we were running over. Why again? Because dear was right, everyone is walking towards the firework area, while we are running away from it! Lolx. Finally we reached the hotel!
I must emphasize that the view from 18th floor of The Oriental Hotel is GREAT, SUPERB, FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL!!! I simply in love with it! The 5 of us (Edwin, 2 of Edwin's friends, Dear and I) waited "impatiently" for the firework to start. We were all very excited! FINALLY at around 9.10pm. The lights at the gallery went off. The music started. There was a short lighting display. We thought it's going to start! But little did we know that we still have to wait a while more! Haha. At 9.15pm, the firework by Spain finally started!!! Overall, the firework is great and nice! After the firework, we chatted an hour or so before we left. They are not paying me for saying all this, but I must say that the view from The Oriental Hotel is good, the room is big, the bed is comfy, the toilet is big, there is a bathtub, the television provides a variety of channels. After going there, dear and I have decided to book a room in there for my birthday countdown, my birthday and new year eve firework! Haha. I can't wait! Thanks dear in advance! Hee...
