Memoirs of a Geisha...(movie)
In the years before World War II, a Japanese child is torn from her penniless family to work as a geisha house. Despite a treacherous rival who nearly breaks her spirit, the girl blossoms into the legendary geisha Sayuri. Beautiful and accomplished, Sayuri captivates the most powerful men of her day, but is haunted by her secret love for the one man beyond her reach.
I quite like the story. It protrays how a girl can sacrifice herself for her desired love. It is a very touching story. I could feel my eyes watery, as tears were on the verge of flowing down. Here it goes. There is this little girl, Chiyo who came from a poor family. Due to poverty, her dad is forced to sell her and her sister, Saruto, away. Chiyo and her sister were sold to different geisha house. In the house, Chiyo got to know Pumpkin, a little girl about her age who came earlier than her. During the first few days there, Chiyo has been thinking of ways to escape. There is this geisha named Namahamomo... to be cont...(too troubled to think and write)
