-=A Life of Hope=- recently i'm very engrossed in this drama: "A Life of Hope"... from this drama, i realise and learn quite a lot of things. however there are still some things which i can't understand. Feifei(Joanne Peh) and a debt-collector gangster Liangyi (Elvin Ng Junxiong) are constantly at loggerheads with each other. Liangyi has served time in prison and gets violent over any big or small matter. However he is extremely filial to his aged grandparents. Things begin to change between these two when Liangyi finds out about Feifei’s ailment. On impulse, he even says he is willing to donate a kidney to her if he dies. This odd couple, who both have no faith in their respective futures, has been brought together by a strange twist of fate. If they had not been so quarrelsome with each other, they would not have gotten to know each other so well. Their relationship turns for the better, even though they continue to dish out piercing comments to each other. They start to feel they cannot live without each other, but they never admit they love each other, because she feels she will only be a burden to him, while he feels that as a gangster, he is not good enough for her... after knowing Feifei(Joanna Peh), he learns a lot of things in life. he gradually understands the importance of being respected. but time flew, they fall for each other without realising that they can't live without each other. as a deal, Feifei has promised to be happy and strong when it comes to difficulties while Liangyi has promised to leave the underworld n stop being a gangster. he decides to turn over a new leaf n approaches one of his army friends to learn the skill of making roti prata. they have date on christmas eve at their boss's ice-cream store. unfortunately something crop up, Zhong was being beaten up by Xiao. in order to save Zhong, he begs Xiao and Xiao uses 3 glass bottles to smash on his head. Nothing stops him from going for date. he drives to the shop n is still able to see Feifei. but even before he is able to greet her merry christmas, blood flows out from forehead and he collapses in front of her. tears gush out of her eyes, memories of them flood her mind. Liangyi is gone, gone in the warmth of her arms. why is it that it is so unfair to him? he has decided to change for the better, but he is not given much chance to show his sincerity. why is it that whenever a person is willing to change for the better, it is either no one wants to give him the chance or god gives him no time to do it? is it only true in scripted drama? does it apply to reality? *haiz* however i learn that as long as one is alive, there is hope. one should never give up till the end of the life, though one may not be able to fulfil what one aspires to do, at least one will not regret even at the last breath. i guess that i must be as strong as Liangyi. he may not b educated and is being looked down by others; he may fail in making his 1st roti prata; he knows that he may not be able to see Feifei the last time; but he has not given up so easily! due to his perseverance, he did it.
